original artwork inspired by nature
My passion for the arts began at a young age. Dance was my primary focus and obsession as a young child and into adulthood. Switching career's to sales in the corporate arena for a decade led me to the realization that my heart was in the creative world. I was fortunate to study under Gregory Johnson, world-renowned artist, for semi-private canvas art classes. After several years of instruction and encouragement, I launched a decorative arts business for almost 20 years. Transforming walls, ceilings and clients visions in their private homes, provided valuable training utilizing color, scale and experimentation with different mediums. Fast forward - my true passion - canvas art!!!!
,
Dance was such an integral form of creativity throughout my childhood and early career. I never dreamed I could replace that corner of my heart ... BUT I DID! Canvas art allows me to travel mentally to unknown places, create my own stories, and with the flick of multiple
brushstrokes lead my own artistic journey! BONUS is when the viewer enjoys and connects with my artworks.
My favorite past times are family, travel, nature adventures and the animal kingdom. Throughout my life, I’ve had the tendency to observe the natural world through the unfiltered prism of child-like eyes. Being totally infatuated with animals, they often become the subject of my artworks. This is probably why most of my animal paintings are cameos and close ups. My attempt is to show my love of their personalities in order to connect them with the viewer.
Nature's abundant and diverse beauty fuels my soul. It’s an immense love for the natural world as well as the animal kingdom, that inspires my art. My love of nature and the animal kingdom are the driving forces when needing inspiration.
I truly enjoy experimenting with different mediums, textures and tools in order to achieve visual interest and dimension on canvas. With my animal artwork, I love focusing on the face, but more specifically the eyes, in an attempt to share the subjects personality and emotions.
"My ultimate desire throughout the creative process is to share a moment in time with the observer - a human connection through my art".
